Hands on the keys

The fastest interface is the one you never have to reach for.

We built a consistent shortcut layer across the whole product, with a searchable command palette so you can find any action by name and learn the keys as you go.

Speed that stays out of the way

Consistent keys

One predictable scheme across every screen and view.

Discoverable

A single key opens a searchable list of everything you can do.

Remappable

Rebind anything to fit the muscle memory you already have.

Why it matters

The fastest interface is the one you barely touch

For daily tools, seconds saved compound into hours.

Reaching for the mouse breaks your flow dozens of times an hour. A consistent shortcut system lets power users move through the app at the speed of thought, hands never leaving the keys.

Because the same keys mean the same thing on every screen, the shortcuts are easy to learn once and impossible to forget after.

Consistent keys

The same shortcuts work everywhere.

Discoverable

Hints teach the keys as you use them.

In practice

Shortcuts are a curve, not a cliff

Nobody learns forty shortcuts from a settings page. People adopt them one at a time, at the moment of repetition, which is why we surface hints exactly where the slow path just happened: do something with the mouse three times, and the tooltip quietly shows the faster way.

The command palette is the bridge. Typing a few letters of an action teaches its name, shows its shortcut, and executes it in one motion, so the palette itself trains users into the keyboard without a manual.

We also respect muscle memory across tools. Familiar patterns from the editors and inboxes people already live in are reused rather than reinvented, because a clever new binding that fights habit is a slower one.

Team for AppsProduct & Engineering

We build software for teams who want their tools to fit the way they actually work — web, mobile, AI and the systems that tie them together. We write here about what we learn shipping it.
